Wire Thread Inserts
Small but mighty, wire thread inserts are the unsung hero of the fastener industry, with their unique design ensuring a compound performance unrivalled by any other fastening method. Our inserts are manufactured from austenitic stainless steel wire, which is profiled to form a diamond shape before being helically coiled to produce inserts capable of providing a high performance internal thread that:
- exceeds the strength of most parent materials
- maintains bolt tension under severe vibration conditions
- is corrosion resistant, preventing adverse seizing and galling
- is wear resistant, virtually eliminating friction-induced thread erosion
- is lightweight without sacrificing thread strength
- withstands temperatures ranging from -200°C to +425°C.
Available in free running and screw locking types, in Metric, Unified, and British Standard thread forms, in five standard lengths, and a variety of alternative materials and finishes, chances are we’ll have the right insert for the job! And if we don’t, we can manufacture special sizes to order.
