Extractor Tool

Simple and easy-to-use, our extractor tools have triangular or trapezoidal-shaped blades with sharpened edges that enable efficient removal of incorrectly fitted inserts.

Available in three sizes, please refer to the size cross-reference chart below to determine which you need:

Method of use:

  1. Insert the sharpened blade into the top threads of the wire insert approximately 45° from the end of the coil. (In some instances, it may be necessary to use a hammer to ensure the blade bites into the top coil of the insert, or to use a Swiss file to cut a small notch into the top coil of the insert for the tool to bite into.)
  2. Maintaining a downward pressure on the tool, turn anti-clockwise to unwind the insert from the tapped hole.

NOTE: Care must be taken when using the tool to avoid damaging the component material or the tapped hole.
